The shareholders in Pioneer Fishing are African Pioneer Marine (Pty) Ltd, with 90%, and the Employee Share Ownership Programme (ESOP), with 10%. Pioneer Fishing’s directors are Alfred da Costa, Stephen Dondolo, Hannes du Preez, Kayalethu Mfono, Henry Ndzwangu and Brendon Wood.
The African Pioneer Group (APG) was established in 1990 by Stephen Dondolo, an established industrialist and entrepreneur. The company was built with a focus on the energy, gaming, as well as food and beverage sectors. Key investments include Coca Cola South Africa, Appletiser and Caltex fuel stations in the Eastern Cape.
